Wrong-Way DUI Crash Triggers Multi-Vehicle Pileup in Camarillo
CAMARILLO, CA (April 15, 2024) — A wrong-way driver has been arrested for DUI after causing a significant chain-reaction crash on the 101 Freeway in Camarillo.
The incident occurred when the driver, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes near Camarillo Springs Road, collided with another vehicle shortly after midnight. This initial crash led to a pileup involving nine other vehicles, which reported moderate to major damage.
Both the suspect and the driver of the second vehicle were taken to Los Robles Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported among the drivers and occupants of the other vehicles involved.
