Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes Freeway in West Covina
WEST COVINA, CA (August 31, 2024) — A multi-vehicle crash on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in West Covina early Saturday morning resulted in at least one fatality. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on the eastbound freeway near Azusa Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Sergio Garcia.
The West Covina vehicle crash involved several vehicles, including a semi-trailer, which blocked multiple lanes of the freeway. Debris was scattered across the roadway, leading to the closure of all eastbound lanes as authorities investigated the cause of the collision.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
