Senator Fetterman and Wife Involved in Maryland Highway Accident

(June 12, 2024) — U.S. Senator John Fetterman and his wife, Gisele, were involved in a two-vehicle collision on Sunday morning in Maryland. The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. on westbound Interstate 70 at the intersection with Interstate 68, prompting a response from Maryland State Police from the Hagerstown Barrack.
Senator Fetterman, 54, was driving a Chevrolet Traverse which collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Impala under circumstances that are still under investigation. Both vehicles were traveling west on I-70 when the crash happened.
Following the incident, a passenger from the Traverse and the driver of the Impala were taken to War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia for treatment.
The Fettermans were also evaluated at a local hospital as a precautionary measure. Senator Fetterman was treated for a bruised shoulder and both were discharged the same day. “John and Gisele are doing well and are thankful to be back home in Braddock,” stated a spokesperson from Senator Fetterman’s office.
They expressed gratitude for the public’s concern and well wishes in a recent post on the social media platform X, marking their resilience on their 16th wedding anniversary. The investigation into the Senator John Fetterman accident remains active, with no citations issued at this time.
