Man Dies After Crashing Into Tractor Near Linden
LINDEN, CA (May 18, 2024) — A 59-year-old Lockeford man died early Wednesday morning after his vehicle crashed into a tractor pulling a sprayer near Linden, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The accident occurred around 5 a.m. on Comstock Road. The John Deere tractor, traveling westbound at 25 mph, was struck from behind by a 2007 Chevy Silverado, also heading westbound. The Linden tractor crash caused the Silverado to flip and come to rest on the dirt shoulder. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the tractor driver was uninjured.
CHP reported that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The involvement of alcohol or drugs is still under investigation.
