Driver Pinned Under Semi in Major Fresno Crash
FRESNO, CA (May 16, 2024) — A severe accident in Fresno left a Ford truck driver trapped underneath a semi-truck after being rear-ended by another semi on Wednesday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol reported that the collision occurred around 4:10 p.m. on northbound Highway 99 at the junction with Highway 41. The accident involved two semi-trucks and a Ford utility truck.
CHP officers determined that heavy traffic had brought a semi-truck and a Ford utility truck to a stop. However, another semi-truck failed to stop in time, crashing into the rear of the Ford and forcing it under the stationary semi in front.
The Ford truck driver was pinned between the two semis and sustained major injuries. Emergency crews are working to extricate the driver and transport them to a local hospital.
