Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Pickup Truck on Highway 1 [El Granada, CA]
EL GRANADA, CA (May 27, 2024) — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a pickup truck on Highway 1 near El Granada on Saturday, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The motorcycle crash in El Granada occurred around 5:45 p.m. at Mirada Road, shutting down both directions of the highway for over four hours. A volunteer firefighter attempted emergency CPR on the motorcyclist, described as a man in his late 20s, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Major Accident Investigation Team from the Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. The identity of the deceased motorcyclist has not yet been released.
