One Dead, Two Injured in Kings County Collision [Kings County, CA]

KINGS COUNTY, CA (May 26, 2024) — A fatal crash in Kings County early Sunday morning left one man dead and two others hospitalized, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported.
The accident occurred around 2:15 a.m. on Avenal Cutoff Road, south of 25th Avenue. A 23-year-old Fresno man driving a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu northbound crossed the center divide and collided head-on with a southbound 2016 Ford F-150 driven by 51-year-old Victor Soto Jr. of Visalia.
Soto sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. The driver of the Malibu died at the scene. A passenger in the Malibu, 20-year-old Taeshon Ogan of Fresno, also suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a different hospital.
The cause of the Kings County collision remains under investigation. It is not yet known if drugs or alcohol were factors.
