L.A. Mother Pleads for Help After Severe Hit-and-Run Injury
SUN VALLEY, CA (May 10, 2024) — Nearly two years after a hit-and-run in Sun Valley left her severely injured, Donna Harting, a Los Angeles mother of four, is asking for public assistance to find the driver responsible.
The incident took place in September 2022 during an early morning walk to a convenience store. Harting was crossing Kewen Avenue at Lankershim Boulevard when a dump truck, not allowed on that road due to weight restrictions, struck her.
Waking up in the hospital two weeks later with no memory of the accident, Harting now suffers from a traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, and ongoing memory issues. Surveillance footage captured the collision, which local business owner Mauricio Herrera described as shocking. Frustrated with the lack of response from authorities despite his efforts, Herrera hopes for justice.
The video also suggested a possible return of the same driver or another ignoring Harting’s injured state.
