(May 23, 2024) — Former UFC fighter Geane Herrera died in a motorcycle crash on Gandy Boulevard in Pinellas County over the weekend, just days before his 34th birthday, according to TMZ.
The Geane Herrera motorcycle crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday as he was traveling eastbound on the Gandy Bridge at high speed. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Herrera attempted to overtake a Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 48-year-old St. Petersburg man, and crashed into its rear.
After the impact, Herrera’s motorcycle veered off the road, struck a concrete barrier, and was redirected back onto the street, tumbling several hundred feet before bursting into flames.
Herrera died at the scene, while the driver of the Jeep was unharmed. Herrera is survived by his 16-year-old son, pregnant girlfriend, mother, father, sisters, and brother.
