Apparent Service Member Killed in Imperial Beach Motorcycle Crash
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 2, 2024) — The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in Imperial Beach that claimed the life of someone who is presumed to be a service member.
Deputies responded to reports of a collision between a pick-up truck and a motorcycle at 13th Street and Donax Avenue around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, died at the scene and appeared to be a service member, according to investigators.
The driver of the pick-up truck remained at the accident site and cooperated with authorities. Later in the day, a group of service members were observed in the area, leaving flowers, candles, and two American flags in tribute. This Imperial Beach motorcycle crash is still under investigation.
