Food Truck Explosion in Whittier Injures Five, Two Critically

WHITTIER, CA (July 20, 2024) — An explosion involving a food truck in Whittier early Saturday morning left five people injured, including two in critical condition.
Emergency services responded to the 6700 block of Greenleaf Avenue at 9:15 a.m. following reports of a blast. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, two victims are in critical condition, two others suffered moderate injuries, and one person sustained minor injuries.
Footage from the scene of the Whittier food truck explosion shows the area cordoned off with police cars and caution tape surrounding the damaged food truck. Authorities are in the early stages of investigating the cause of the explosion.
