Motorcyclist Ejected in Kearny Mesa Crash, Suffers Serious Injuries
KEARNY MESA, CA (August 5, 2024) — A 31-year-old man was seriously injured Saturday night after being ejected from his motorcycle in Kearny Mesa.
The incident reportedly happened at around 9:30 p.m. as the man rode a 2021 Honda motorcycle westbound in the 9300 block of Lightwave Avenue. For reasons still under investigation, he veered into the eastbound lanes and struck the center median, causing him to be ejected from the motorcycle.
The San Diego Police Department reported that the rider sustained a skull fracture, an orbital fracture, and abrasions. Fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening. Traffic Division officers responded to the scene and are leading the investigation. Authorities have determined that alcohol was a factor in the Kearny Mesa crash.
