Two Dead, One Critical in Livermore Car Crash
LIVERMORE, CA (July 25, 2024) — An early morning car crash in Livermore has left two people dead and one in critical condition, according to the Livermore Police Department.
Around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a solo vehicle collision on South Vasco Road near Naylor Street in Alameda County. Upon arrival, they found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
First responders pulled a 25-year-old man and a five-year-old girl from the vehicle and transported them to the hospital. The man remains in critical condition, while the child succumbed to her injuries. A 24-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
All three victims, who are from Manteca, were traveling together in a black Hyundai. Police said the vehicle was heading northbound on South Vasco Road when it veered off the roadway after passing the intersection with Las Positas Road and crashed into a tree, igniting the fire. The cause of the Livermore car crash is still under investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role.
