Orange County, CA – A single-engine Van’s RV-10 struck a furniture facility near Fullerton Municipal Airport on Thursday afternoon, killing two people and injuring 18.
Ten of the wounded were hospitalized, while eight received treatment at the scene and were released. The collision sparked a fire that sent flames through part of the building, prompting authorities to evacuate workers and advise the public to avoid the area.
Security footage from across the street shows an explosion as the aircraft hit the structure. Witnesses reported a booming noise and saw a large ball of fire. Officials say the plane appeared to turn back toward the airport shortly after takeoff.
The Fullerton plane crash remains under investigation.
