Bakersfield DUI Sweep: California Highway Patrol Issues Arrests and Citations
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 20, 2024) — The California Highway Patrol’s Bakersfield division conducted a Sobriety/Driver License checkpoint on February 16, 2024, resulting in multiple arrests and citations.
The Bakersfield DUI sweep took place on Westbound Niles Street at Crestmont Drive, screening 397 vehicles from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Authorities carried out five DUI evaluations, leading to two arrests for alcohol-related DUI offenses. Additionally, 14 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license. The checkpoint also resulted in the storage of two vehicles and the impoundment of one.
The CHP’s commitment to road safety through such checkpoints underscores the ongoing efforts to reduce alcohol-related accidents and enforce driver license regulations.
