Speeding Vehicle Crashes Into Students Near Anaheim Tennis Center
ANAHEIM, CA (February 14, 2024) — A speeding vehicle spiraled out of control and struck a group of students standing on a sidewalk in Anaheim, capturing the attention of onlookers who then took cellphone video footage.
The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. on State College Drive, near Wagner Avenue, in front of the Anaheim Tennis Center. The blue car skidded, hit the curb, and collided with a utility pole, causing students nearby to dodge the vehicle and debris in a frantic effort to avoid injury.
Two of the students, who are enrolled at a neighboring school, were subsequently hospitalized in stable condition, though the severity of their injuries remains unknown.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the crash site, and authorities have not made any arrests related to the incident.
Video footage of the Anaheim pedestrian crash from local news agencies shows a dark-colored Chevrolet Camaro spinning its tires and fishtailing around 11:30 a.m., near the crash site, according to O.C. Hawk, an independent news video outlet. It’s unclear if the driver involved in the later crash was attempting similar stunts.
