Vacaville Man Critically Injured After Being Run Over by Truck

LAKE TAHOE, CA (March 7, 2024) — A 60-year-old man from Berkeley suffered major injuries after being run over by a pickup truck he was trying to push on a snowy Tahoe street.
The Tahoe truck accident occurred at 12:20 p.m. on Sunday near Meyers, involving a Ford F-350 that had slid on an icy section of Mandan Street. The Berkeley man, alongside other good Samaritans, was assisting the truck’s driver, a 73-year-old man from Vacaville, when the vehicle unexpectedly rolled backward over him.
He was rushed to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe and is currently in the intensive care unit.
This accident followed another crash in the same area the previous day, where a 15-year-old girl from South Lake Tahoe was injured when her family’s vehicle was struck by a sliding pickup truck.
These back-to-back accidents highlight the treacherous conditions on Tahoe’s snowy roads this winter, urging drivers and pedestrians alike to exercise extreme caution.
