Rideshare Driver Arrested After Fatal Costa Mesa Hit-and-Run

COSTA MESA, CA (March 7, 2024) — Costa Mesa Police have detained Thomas Loranze Henry, a 43-year-old from Ontario, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred over the weekend.
Charged with vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run, Henry’s arrest came after a thorough investigation into the early Sunday incident.
The Costa Mesa rideshare hit-and-run incident, which took place near the intersection of Newport and Harbor Boulevard around 12:30 a.m., claimed the life of a 47-year-old woman. She was struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by Henry, who was operating as a rideshare driver at the time. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim succumbed to her injuries.
