
VICTORVILLE, CA – Authorities have identified the man who died in a single-vehicle crash in Apple Valley on Saturday, March 1, 2025, as 40-year-old Lorenzo Danta Cammon, a local resident.
The crash occurred around 7:10 a.m. at the intersection of Navajo Road and Pah-Ute Avenue. Investigators say Cammon’s vehicle veered off the road, striking a smaller light pole before colliding with a traffic signal pole.
The impact left the SUV near the Apple Valley School District with a light pole embedded in the engine compartment, sparking a fire.
Good Samaritan Baruch Gonzalez and others on scene rushed to pull Cammon from the burning wreckage. Despite their efforts, he was in full cardiac arrest when first responders arrived. He was transported to Providence St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:41 a.m., according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
The cause of the Apple Valley SUV crash remains under investigation.
