Seven passengers, including five children, were left with injuries after a man reportedly collided with their vehicle at the intersection of Manor Street on China Grade Loop in Bakersfield Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred at about 7:08 p.m., when a man drove onto Lerdo Jail property in a dark-colored sedan, bypassing security and speeding through the main gate. The suspect reportedly continued to drive through the Oildale area.
Before officers could initiate a pursuit, the suspect crashed into an SUV at the intersection. It is alleged that the SUV held seven passengers, consisting of two adults and five children — all of prepubescent age.
All occupants were left with injuries following the crash, with one child, one adult, and the suspect sustaining severe injuries.
