TULARE COUNTY, CA – A deadly Tulare County truck accident claimed the life of a 28-year-old man from Strathmore on Thursday afternoon, after the logging truck he was driving overturned on a rural stretch of road, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. on Hot Springs Road, just east of Old Hot Springs Road, an area often traveled by large commercial vehicles, including logging and agricultural trucks.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the driver was heading westbound in a Freightliner when the vehicle suddenly veered off the road and overturned. Emergency crews responded quickly, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the truck accident, and CHP confirmed that drugs or alcohol are not suspected as contributing factors. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with authorities looking into possible mechanical failure, road conditions, or driver fatigue.
The wreck left the truck heavily damaged and scattered debris across the roadside, forcing a partial closure of Hot Springs Road for several hours.
The driver’s name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
