
ROSEVILLE, CA – A semi-truck loaded with strawberries caught fire Thursday afternoon on eastbound Interstate 80 near Eureka Road in Roseville, leading to heavy traffic and multiple lane closures.
The Roseville semi-truck fire was reported around 3:45 p.m., prompting a response from the Roseville Fire Department, which dispatched three engines, one truck, and two battalion chiefs. The fire was contained to the trailer, which was completely destroyed, while the truck cab remained intact.
By 4:15 p.m., firefighters had extinguished the flames, but cleanup crews continued working at the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area or use alternate routes as traffic flow is gradually restored.
