COACHELLA, CA – A traffic accident at the intersection of Calhoun Street and Avenue 52 left three people injured Thursday night.
Reports indicate a white Toyota Corolla ran a stop sign, crashed into a power pole, and then hit a parked Nissan Frontier. The force of the impact pushed the truck into a taco truck, where a man and a woman were present. Both suffered minor injuries.
The Toyota driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center. Authorities also confirmed the driver was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI).
This Coachella crash underscores the importance of road safety and the growing need for traffic precautions throughout the city.
