BAKERSFIELD, CA — A semi-truck fire near the Grapevine led to partial lane closures on Interstate 5 (I-5) on Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The fire was first reported around 11:36 a.m., when flames from the truck spread and reached nearby roadside vegetation. The blaze mainly affected the southbound No. 4 lane, causing significant traffic disruption.
CHP confirmed that two lanes remained closed, while two others stayed open to allow traffic to continue. Emergency crews quickly responded to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
No major injuries have been reported. Drivers traveling through the Grapevine area are advised to use caution and expect delays.
