TORRANCE, CA — A multi-vehicle crash in Torrance early Friday morning forced the closure of Artesia Boulevard between South Western and Van Ness Avenue in both directions. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued a Sig Alert and advised drivers to use alternate routes while emergency crews responded.
The Gardena Police Department reported the crash occurred around 3:30 a.m., leaving a man unresponsive inside one of the vehicles. He was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
