SAN DIEGO, CA – A 39-year-old man is in critical condition after a serious Pacific Beach hit-and-run accident while crossing Grand Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk Wednesday night.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred in the 2500 block of the busy avenue. The man was walking north when a blue Toyota Prius, driven by a 48-year-old woman traveling west, struck him in the left lane.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, including a spinal fracture, brain bleed, dislocated knee, and a collapsed lung.
Authorities confirmed the driver remained at the scene and that alcohol was not a factor. The SDPD Traffic Division is investigating the circumstances surrounding the Pacific Beach accident.
