LUCERNE VALLEY, CA – A serious traffic accident on State Route 247 and Rabbit Springs Road left two people injured, one in critical condition, Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 1:10 p.m. when a white Dodge pickup collided with a Ford F-150, which ended up on its side with severe damage.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, firefighters found one occupant trapped inside the overturned truck. The passenger, a man in his 40s, was able to exit the vehicle on his own before emergency responders arrived, but the driver had to be rescued by firefighters.
Due to the severity of injuries, a medical helicopter was dispatched to Pioneer Park to transport the victim to a local hospital.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is actively investigating the cause of the accident.
