AZUSA, CA – A major accident involving three big rigs and five cars caused traffic chaos Tuesday morning on the 210 Freeway, near the North Vernon Avenue exit in Azusa.
The crash spilled thousands of beer cans and metal kegs across the roadway, creating a massive traffic jam during rush hour. One of the big rigs was split in half, while several cars were struck by debris from the collision.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued a SigAlert at around 3:30 a.m., shutting down two westbound lanes for several hours. All lanes were finally reopened by 10:10 a.m.
So far, it has not been confirmed if anyone was injured in the multiple-vehicle crash in Azusa, and authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
