VALLEY SPRINGS, CA — A car accident in Valley Springs, California, left one person injured and a dog dead on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Calaveras Consolidated Fire District.
The crash happened on Heney Lane, where a vehicle veered off the road and went down an embankment, crashing into a large pine tree.
The driver sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a trauma center in the Valley for medical treatment.
Two family dogs were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident; sadly, one did not survive the impact.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is still investigating the cause of the accident.
