GRAPEVINE, CA — Southbound traffic on Interstate 5 near Grapevine saw significant delays Thursday afternoon after a crash involving a semi-truck and another vehicle left multiple lanes blocked and part of the roadway damaged.
According to early reports, the collision happened around 2:15 p.m. The impact caused the semi-truck to jackknife across the highway, shutting down several lanes and severely disrupting traffic. Officials said approximately 40 feet of guardrail were destroyed, creating an immediate hazard for drivers in the area.
The #1 and #2 lanes remained closed following the jackknife crash on I-5, and authorities have not provided an estimated time for reopening as crews work to remove the damaged vehicles and secure the scene.
