GRASS VALLEY, CA — Two semitruck drivers were killed in a head-on crash on Highway 20 in Grass Valley, reported around 10:55 a.m. near Brighton Street, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Officials confirmed that weather and fog were not factors in the collision, which remains under investigation. After the initial impact, a Toyota Tacoma struck one of the involved big rigs, leaving its driver with minor injuries.
Emergency personnel pronounced both truck drivers dead at the scene.
Highway 20 remains closed in both directions for an extended period. Authorities are urging drivers to use alternate routes as cleanup and investigation efforts continue.
