PLEASANT HILL, CA (October 24, 2024) – A motorcyclist sustained severe injuries in a crash with a vehicle on Wednesday evening in Pleasant Hill, according to local police. The incident occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of Contra Costa Boulevard and Dexter Drive.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist was heading north on Contra Costa Boulevard when a vehicle turning left from the southbound lane onto Dexter Drive struck him. The injured motorcyclist was promptly transported to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek for treatment of major injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Following the crash, the section of Contra Costa Boulevard from Beth to Ellinwood drives was closed until around 10:40 p.m. as officers conducted their investigation.
