Actor Zachary Quinto Criticized by Toronto Restaurant for Alleged Tantrum
(June 4, 2024) — A Toronto restaurant publicly criticized actor Zachary Quinto on social media Saturday, accusing him of behaving poorly and making a host cry.
Manita, a “mediterranean-ish bistro” in Toronto, posted on Instagram Stories that Quinto, known for his role as Spock in the “Star Trek” films, was “an amazing Spock, but a terrible customer.”
The restaurant claimed Quinto yelled at their staff “like an entitled child” after not responding to texts about his table being ready and refusing to accept that empty tables were reserved.
“Made our host cry and the rest of our brunch diners uncomfortable,” the restaurant wrote, concluding with, “Mr. Quinto, take your bad vibes somewhere else. We have many lovely celebrities join us at Manita but you are NOT one of them.”
Quinto was in Toronto celebrating his 47th birthday, sharing his visit to Canada’s Wonderland theme park on Instagram. Despite his public celebration, the restaurant incident marred his visit.
Quinto, who has been candid about his past struggles with alcohol, went sober several years ago and has spoken positively about the change.
Representatives have yet to comment on the alleged Zachary Quinto tantrum.
