Arrest Finally Made in Arleta Hit-and-Run
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 21, 2024) — A 19-year-old suspect has been apprehended in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in Arleta in August last year.
Reports show that the Arleta hit-and-run happened late on August 12, 2023, along Van Nuys Boulevard.
The driver of a black Infiniti sedan, allegedly traveling at high speed, struck a bicyclist while attempting to pass another vehicle. The impact propelled the cyclist onto a parked car and onto the sidewalk, resulting in the victim’s death.
Identified as 44-year-old David Rodriguez, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Following an extensive investigation, LAPD detectives pinpointed Daniel Antonio Garcia of Panorama City as the driver of the Infiniti.
Garcia was taken into custody on Monday and faces charges of felony hit-and-run causing death.
