Bakersfield Crash Claims Life of 15-Year-old Bicyclist
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 1, 2024) — A 15-year-old boy, Jacob Gonzalez, died after his gas-powered mini bicycle collided with a car in northeast Bakersfield, an incident that has left the community mourning.
The collision, which happened at the intersection of River Boulevard and Skyline Avenue, also resulted in major injuries for another 16-year-old boy involved.
Officials reported that neither teen was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and the car’s driver did not sustain any injuries. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office announced Gonzalez’s death following the tragic event.
