Car Crash in Deep Creek Area Sends Woman to Trauma Center

DEEP CREEK, CA (July 28, 2024) — A woman was taken to a trauma center after her car collided with a parked vehicle and tumbled down an embankment in the Deep Creek area on Saturday afternoon.
The car crash in Deep Creek happened at around 12:39 p.m. near the entrance to the Deep Creek spillway and dam at Arrowhead Lake Road and Saddle Dike Embankment. A green 2018 Tesla Model 3, traveling westbound, struck the rear of a parked blue Subaru Outback. The collision caused the Tesla to veer off the road and roll down a steep embankment.
The Subaru driver, who was returning from a hike, heard the impact and discovered his car had been hit and moved. He then found the female Tesla driver unconscious at the bottom of the embankment. She regained consciousness and reported stomach pain.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department arrived at the scene and requested a medical helicopter. Mercy Air landed nearby and transported the injured woman to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
