The E coli in raw cheddar alert pertains to both original and jalapeno flavors sold in blocks and shredded forms. A forthcoming recall by Raw Farm, in collaboration with the FDA, aims to mitigate future risks after the outbreak’s trace back to mid-October.
Investigations highlighted that 75% of the interviewed patients consumed the implicated cheese before their illness, significantly exceeding the FoodNet Population survey’s average.
With symptoms ranging from severe diarrhea to life-threatening kidney complications, the CDC has recommended the immediate disposal of the product and cessation of sales by businesses.
