Chico High School Student Severely Injured in Crosswalk Crash
SACRAMENTO, CA (September 12, 2024) — A serious incident occurred at the intersection of Esplanade and West Sacramento Avenue, where a 17-year-old Chico High School student was struck by a vehicle, resulting in major injuries. The crash involved a 23-year-old Chico State student driving the car.
Authorities reported that the high school student was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when the collision took place. The driver, who is from outside the area, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. According to police, neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
