Child Killed, Nine Injured in South LA Multi-Vehicle Crash [Green Meadows, LA]
GREEN MEADOWS, CA (July 7, 2024) — A tragic multi-vehicle collision in South Los Angeles on Friday night claimed the life of a 12-year-old girl and left nine others injured. The crash happened around 6:20 p.m. near 630 East Century Blvd. in the Green Meadows neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Emergency responders arrived to find severe damage to three vehicles involved in the crash. The young girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Nine other victims, including six adults and three juveniles, were transported to local hospitals.
An adult woman was trapped in one of the vehicles and required extrication by the fire department. She was taken to the hospital in moderate condition. The remaining victims were able to exit their vehicles on their own, with three juveniles in moderate condition and five adults in fair condition.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the South LA multi-vehicle crash. The identities of the victims have not been released as the investigation continues.
