CHP Officer Critically Injured in Palmdale Motorcycle Collision

PALMDALE, CA (October 16, 2024) — A California Highway Patrol (CHP) motorcycle officer was critically injured in a three-vehicle collision in Palmdale on Tuesday, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.
The crash happened at the intersection of Columbia Way and 6th Street West around 1:15 p.m.
KTLA footage from the scene shows the officer’s motorcycle was extensively damaged upon colliding with the front end of a gray Jeep Cherokee. A white Nissan Sentra was also involved, exhibiting front-end damage. Debris, including the officer’s boots, belt, and uniform, was scattered across the roadway, highlighting the severity of the incident.
The CHP officer was transported to an Antelope Valley hospital and is currently in critical condition. He was the sole casualty reported from the incident. Authorities are investigating the cause of the Palmdale motorcycle collision, including whether substances played a role. The area was sealed off for investigation and cleanup, with no further details immediately available.
