Dashcam Shows Deputy’s Car Rolling After Brutal Crash in Santa Clarita
SANTA CLARITA, CA (May 30, 2024) — A dramatic dashcam video captured a violent crash that sent a deputy’s vehicle barreling through a busy intersection in Santa Clarita on Wednesday.
The collision occurred around 12:19 p.m. near Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The deputy was traveling northbound on Bouquet Canyon Road when a gold Lexus, heading westbound, struck the passenger side of the deputy’s cruiser.
The impact caused the deputy’s car to roll multiple times through the intersection before hitting a silver SUV that was stopped at a light. Large pieces of auto debris flew into the air, narrowly missing other vehicles.
The video on the Santa Clarita crash shows several bystanders rushing to assist the deputy immediately after the crash. The deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was released later that afternoon. He was responding to a burglary report at the time of the accident, officials confirmed.
The elderly driver of the gold Lexus was uninjured and was picked up by family members. The driver of the silver SUV was hospitalized with minor injuries. No charges have been filed, and the incident is under investigation.
