Deadly Wrong-Way Collision on 10 Freeway Disrupts West L.A. Traffic
RANCHO PARK, CA (April 8, 2024) — Early Sunday morning, a catastrophic crash on the westbound 10 Freeway near Overland Avenue in the Rancho Park neighborhood resulted in one fatality and three people hospitalized with severe injuries.
The crash involved a driver heading east in westbound lanes around 1:50 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP officials, who were alerted to the wrong-way driver before the accident occurred, are investigating the possibility of impairment due to drugs or alcohol as a contributing factor. The identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed, and details about the conditions of the injured parties remain under wraps.
