Delivery Driver Airlifted After Crash into Victorville Home
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 5, 2024) — A delivery driver was critically injured and subsequently airlifted to a trauma center following a severe accident in Victorville on Tuesday. The crash occurred at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Tokay Street near Bear Valley Road at approximately 1:41 pm.
The driver, operating a gray 2023 Mercedes Benz Sprinter, initially side-swiped a small SUV. He then lost control, crossing over traffic lanes and a sidewalk, ultimately crashing into a home’s corner. The van came to a halt only after striking a safety bollard on the property’s perimeter.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver appeared incoherent and the van was immobilized with its drive gear engaged but blocked by the metal pole. While the driver sustained critical injuries, the female SUV driver was unharmed. Local authorities, including Victorville City Firefighters and Victorville Building & Safety, responded to the scene for immediate assistance and structural evaluation.
