Deputy and Two Others Injured in Mead Valley Crash

RIVERSIDE, CA (August 29, 2024) — A Riverside County sheriff’s deputy and two other individuals were injured following a two-car crash in Mead Valley on Tuesday night. The collision occurred around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Brown Street and Oakwood Street, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP officers reported that the deputy was driving a Ford Explorer SUV northbound on Brown Street when a Toyota Camry, traveling eastbound on Oakwood Street, collided with the SUV on the passenger side. The cause of the Mead Valley crash remains under investigation, though investigators noted that Oakwood Street has stop signs, while Brown Street is a through street.
The deputy sustained minor injuries, while the two occupants of the Camry suffered moderate to major injuries. Their current conditions are not known. CHP is handling the investigation, following a standard procedure when a deputy is involved in a crash.
