Downtown Fresno Car Crash Involving Stolen Vehicle Leaves Three Hospitalized [Fresno, CA]

FRESNO, CA (April 2, 2024) — A collision involving a stolen vehicle on Sunday night in downtown Fresno resulted in injuries to five individuals. According to reports from the Fresno Police Department, two teenagers in a stolen car ran a red light at the intersection of Fulton and Van Ness around 7:40 p.m., colliding with another vehicle.

 

The teens involved in the Fresno car crash were taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure. However, the collision had more severe consequences for the occupants of the other vehicle involved; two women and a 17-year-old received medical attention at the hospital due to complaints of pain resulting from the impact.

 

This incident unfolded after Fresno Police officers attempted to pull over the Hyundai, driven by the teenagers, for traffic violations near Jensen and Cedar avenues. The driver of the Hyundai chose not to stop, leading officers on a brief pursuit. Due to the unsafe driving behavior exhibited by the teenagers, police decided to disengage from the chase. Unfortunately, shortly after losing sight of the vehicle, officers were informed of the crash.
