SAN YSIDRO, CA (April 29, 2024) — A catastrophic collision in San Ysidro led to significant injuries for one person after a driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.
The incident involved a collision with a Toyota 4Runner driven by a 49-year-old man. The crash occurred when the driver of the first vehicle lost control and struck the Toyota, causing its seats to collapse backward and severely injuring a passenger.
The injured passenger, who reported losing sensation below the waist, was rushed to a local hospital with a fractured thoracic vertebrae. Details regarding their current condition have not been released as the investigation continues.
