DUI Leads to Head-On Crash with Police Cruiser in Arvin
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 6, 2024) — Two individuals were arrested under suspicion of DUI, assault with a deadly weapon, and reckless driving after their vehicle collided with a police cruiser in Arvin on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on April 3, when Arvin police spotted a blue Mustang speeding and driving erratically through a residential neighborhood.
Attempting to evade the officers, the Mustang’s driver lost control after crossing a median, causing the vehicle to spin. Subsequently, the Mustang was maneuvered into a direct collision with the approaching police vehicle. The impact resulted in minor injuries to the officers involved, while the suspects declined medical treatment.
Following the Arvin DUI crash, both the driver and passenger of the Mustang were detained, facing multiple charges.
