DUI Suspect Crashes into Parked Cars in Reseda

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 18, 2024) —A motorist suspected of DUI and speeding caused significant damage in Los Angeles’s Reseda  neighborhood early Wednesday, crashing into several parked cars and overturning. The incident unfolded around 2 a.m. on Victory Boulevard just east of Corbin Avenue, where the 18-year-old driver was reportedly speeding eastbound, lost control, crossed into the westbound lanes, and collided with at least five parked vehicles.

The driver, who sustained minor injuries, was transported to a local hospital and is expected to face DUI charges. At the scene, emergency personnel treated a man and a woman, both in their late teens to early twenties; the woman, visibly injured, was taken to the hospital, while the man was helped into an ambulance. It remains uncertain who was driving at the time of the crash.

Authorities have identified both excessive speed and alcohol as factors contributing to the accident. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported. Law enforcement is in the process of notifying the owners of the damaged vehicles.

The Reseda DUI crash led to the closure of Victory Boulevard between Corbin Avenue and Belmar Avenue during the ongoing investigation.
