Early Morning Pasadena Car Crash Leaves 3 Dead, 3 Hospitalized

PASADENA, CA (May 12, 2024) — A devastating accident in Pasadena early Saturday morning resulted in three fatalities and three critical injuries.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Sierra Madre and Foothill boulevards, where a Tesla Model 3 was captured on surveillance video speeding through a red light, subsequently crashing into an empty building.
Local residents Billy Billotti and Nicholas Fernandez, who witnessed the aftermath, described the scene as gruesome. “I heard an explosion,” Billotti reportedly recounted to local news agencies. “There were power lines down. People flew out of the car. The car was ripped apart.”
Fernandez noted the presence of alcohol at the scene, adding to the initial observations of reckless driving.
Authorities confirmed that all victims, aged between 17 and 22, were traveling in the Tesla. Three were pronounced dead at the scene, while the others were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
The Pasadena car crash not only caused significant structural damage but also led to a temporary power outage in the area. The investigation is ongoing.
