El Monte Man Arrested After DUI Crash Involving Police Vehicle
EL MONTE, CA (April 13, 2024) — An El Monte resident was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after colliding with a police patrol car early Friday morning.
The incident took place around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Peck Road. According to the El Monte Police Department, the collision occurred as the officer was responding to a call, resulting in the police cruiser crashing into a nearby business.
The driver, identified as 47-year-old Maclovio Figueroa, was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI involving alcohol and/or drugs. The officer involved was transported to the hospital for an examination and has since been released.
